Laura Elena Harring is a young and dynamic artist whose talented prompted The International Herald Tribune to laud her as "regal... an Ava Gardner Goddess...'" and Variety who says "Harring holds the screen very nicely and even offers a haunting echo of Rita Hayworth in her dual American/Latina persona. Laura stars in the much anticipated film Mulholland Drive by David Lynch a modern day mystery with the stylized feel of old Hollywood.

Laura plays several characters in this story of love and is the object of obsession in the city of dreams. Laura will also be seen co-starring opposite Denzel Washington, Anne Heche and Robert Duvall in the upcoming New Line feature John Q which will be released in February 2002.

Other film credits include opposite Raul Julia in The Alamo: Thirteen Days to Glory, opposite Jon Lovitz in Adam Sandler's Little Nicky and in Garry Marshall's Exit to Eden. Her first film role was The Forbidden Dance, Lambada.

She was seen on the small screen in her year long stint as Paula Stevens, the strong independent police officer in Aaron Spelling's drama Sunset Beach, as Marisleysis Gonzales in the controversial true life story, The Elian Gonzales Story, and as a series regular on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman spin off, California. Laura was a social worker in India digging ditches at 5:00AM and doing manual labor work, after studying foreign languages abroad at Aiglon College. There she met and fell in love with her now ex-husband and friend, Count Carl von Bismarck before pursuing her love of drama at the London Academy of Performing Arts.

There, she immersed herself in such productions as Titania in A Midsummer Nights Dream and Henry IV Part II. Harring continued her theatre roles in the Los Angeles downtown arts district, The 2nd Annual Festival of Horrors, a sketch show that allowed Laura to play a variety of roles.
